Is this still a work in progress ? The reason I ask is under the 1850
Kentucky Census you only have one Surname FREEMAN ?
There was in the early 1800's a rather large migration of historically known
"Melungeon" families from the Hancock Co/ Hawkins Co. TN area that moved to
Kentucky. By 1850 there were hundreds if not thousands of descendents of
these folks in Floyd, Johnson, Pike, Letcher, Harlan and Morgan Counties. I
noticed that not one of these FREEMAN'S are listed in any of these Counties.
Where are the Collins's, Gibson's, Bunch's etc, that were part of this
migration ? Just wondering.
