abit before the "BiG Deal era" I studied maps of Abrahams journey from Ur
back in the "dark ages" of the 1950's.
The "big deal" time to which I referred was in the 1920s. Identification of
the Southern Iraq Ur with the Ur of Abraham had been gospel -- no pun
intended -- for 30 years by the time you came along, Dr. Bob.

It's on the west bank of the Euphrates, to be precise, which is the wrong
bank, as it turns out, one of the many problems with identifying it as the
Ur of Abraham.

All place UR just where I first found it listed. No where have I ever read
Turkey. If a fight get started over this I do not wish to be a part of it.
I WILL SAY NO MORE. Rev. Dr. Bob Barnes
Nothing to fight over, Dr. Bob. Just take a look at the URL I gave in my
earlier post and think about it for yourself. It cites a number of
references for further study, if you're so inclined. A briefer and simpler
discussion of the issue can be found in the Wikipedia, if you'd rather that.
And if you want to just forget the whole thing, that's fine too! LOL
