Sorry-Our family's Indian connection is through a McGee that married Mary
Ottertail, a Cherokee. There is Indian heritage on my Grandmother's side
(maiden name Balentine), and I believe it might be Creek, but so far, I
can't find any information to prove that.

Does anyone on the list know, or has ever heard of, the Indian children of
General Thomas S. Woodward of Alabama, Arkansas and Louisiana?
Our family says that my ggrandfather, Alfred Woodward and his brother,
Lewis/Louis were the sons of "General Woodward and a Creek (or Choctaw)
woman." They are both listed on the 1870 census as "Mulatto." They were
born
in Alabama during the time the General lived there. They went to Louisiana
the same year the General did.
Would appreciate any facts, legends, lore.
Thank you,
Tommie
