In going through my grandmother's things, I found a picture of who I
believe to be a child of Indian heritage. The child is about 2 years of
age...I can't tell if a boy or girl, but is wearing a long-sleeved
black dress and standing on a chair. My grandparents lived in Porcupine
SD and worked at the hotel there about 1905. I was fascinated by this
picture when I was growing up in the 50's and when my grandmother told
me that the child was someone she knew on the reservation. She often
shared stories of living and working on or near the reservation so her
autobiography has been very interesting to read. There is no name on
the picture, but thought that someone might be interested in having
this photo. I am willing to mail it to anyone who wants to have it.
