I am Debbie Ashley NANCE, a Nance only by marriage.

I am researching the Richard Nance family who left Talledega, Alabama and
moved to Texas about 1850. The family consisted of:
Richard W. Nance, b. 1821 in Talledega, d. about 1857 in Texas
Sylvestra Fretwell Nance Adams, b. Aug. 9, 1820 in Talledega, d. Jan. 9,
1908 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma (second husband: William Adams)
Benjamin Nance, b. 1843 in Alabama
Samuel Nance, b.1847 in Alabama
John Nance, b. 1849 in Alabama
William Hensley Nance, b. March 31, 1852 in Texas
Alabama Louisa Nance Johnson, b. 1853 in Texas
Frances B. Nance Short Calhoun, b. 1856 in Texas
Jefferson Adams (half-brother), b. 1860 in Texas
Rachel Annie Adams McIlvain, b. 1862 in Texas

Any information you have on these or any other Talledega Nances would be
appreciated.
