Sonia,
Congrats!! (I think! Best Wishes!)
In response to your question of how we relate to the Nance family......
I descend from Jesse C. Nance (1831-1903) and Minerva Brown (1835 - 1920).
Jesse and Minerva (married 1854) are found in Union or Cherokee Cos. in SC.
You list a Jesse and a John Nance on the 1850 Union Co. census which I
believe is my ancestor and, possibly, a brother. Jesse served in the Civil
War from SC in Isaac McKissick's Cavalry.
I descend from Jesse and Minerva's daughter, P. Elizabeth Nance, who married
John Preston Mayfield. The other children of Jesse and Minerva were:
John T.
James William
Jesse Columbus
Franklin M.
Rufus
Lemuel
Wallace T.
Calvin F.
Sally
I've recently heard from a new "cousin" and hope to learn more about this
line; but, this is my basic info at this point.
THANKS!!
LINDA in TN
