Subject: Trying to figure out the EARLIEST American Nances...

Congratulations, Sonia, glad you have taken this on. I'm sure the list
will benefit.
I'm descended from DAVID Nance who died in Pittsylvania Co. VA in 1780 and
left children David, William H. (my g-g-grandfather), Elizabeth, Susanna,
and Mary. I'm interested in trying to pin down the connection of this
David Nance to the rest of the family, which I believe is through John and
Martha Nance.
But I'm REALLY interested in trying to figure out the connections between
the EARLIEST American Nances, the generations that were here in the
1600's. This includes questions like the one Robert L. Nance referred to,
about the origin of the earliest Daniel Nance, from whom he is descended.
Other problems include the origin of the William Nance (b. abt. 1715?)
who married Ann and whose children included Reuben, the origin of James
Nance (b. abt. 1700?) who married Ann and whose children included
Zachariah, the origin and connections of the William Nance who had married
a Tinsley by 1692, and more. If you visit my website, at
http://home.sprynet.com/~dnance/nanchart.htm, there's some information on
my speculations about this. I would enjoy corresponding with anybody
about theories on how the earliest American Nances connect.
