Neva this is about the same route that my ancestor took, actually looks
like more than a few bands of tribes went about this same route as your
Browns did. we think our came from VA or PA. I don't have her last name
yet.
but are just looking now for tribes or bands that were forced
through the middle of ohio IN to Kansas and then down to OK. I am
looking for a left behind indian woman that Married a Ross. I hope to
have her name and the Man Ross's name after I get MY Robert F Ross's
civil war papers, it was his mom who was left behind to care for some
dying and sick indians, one was her mother who died there on the back
side of Ross's farm land.
the names I THINK I might be looking for or that are associated to
this chief and his family are Parker's or parks, miller or millard or
willard, maybe sulivan, who married a white man ross or who's daughter
married a white man ross. if anyone knows of a chiefs/leader family that
took one these surnames and his wife died on the removal. the chief I
think Had an Indian name I would love to get with you and compare our
family tales with your family names. OH I believe the tribe to be
somehow related to the mohawk. thanks renee
