Good Morning Max,

In the 1880 census, Christopher and his family were in Paw Creek, Mecklenburg County. He was 50 then. Race - White. He was also a Private in the 52nd Infantry in Comapny H in the Civil War. This is all the information I have been able to find on him and his family.
(He also went by the names Christy and Christus) I've heard that his middle name was Columbus.

Can you give a little more information? Where in NC did you find him in
1880? Race would also be of help as the Hope families are about evenly
divided between W & B. In 1870 I find

But age doesn't match up. He should be around 40 in 1870. This is the
only Hope indexed close to 40.

I am looking for my g-g-grandpa Christopher Hope and his family anywhere
except the 1880 census. I found him there. He was born in 1830 in NC.
He married Ruth E. Jenkins and they had 6 boys. He also went by the
name Christy.
