Resending this reply. I don't know if it went through since it's not showing

Recevived my response earlier stating no Wattenbargers found in N.C. census.
This family orginated in Green Co. Tenn., however there is none to be found
in Green Co. They are later found in the 1920 census of Ky. The last child
was born 1905. Between 1905 and 1920 the family states they were in N.C.
where
Nancy Wattenbarger died. I have found Wattenbarger spelled many ways. Can
"
Creative Spelling " apply here. It has been spelled Whittenberg,
Whittenbarger, Wuertenberg, Wortenbarger.
Thanks,

Marshall,
I tried all of these spellings:
WATTENBERGER / WOTTENBERGER / WATTENBERG / WATTENBURGER / WORTENBERGER /
WORTENBARGER /
WURTENBERGER / WURTENBARGER / WURTENBURGER
then realized that the mixtures were almost infinite so I tried a first name
search for FREDERICK----no W surnames that were even close.
Finally tried a search for all FREDs in NC and found this:
WALENBURGER FRED 30 M W NC NC MADISON HOT SPRINGS TWP 1910
Series: T624 Roll: 1107 Page: 139
Fred Walenburger, head, 30, married 12 yrs., b. NC, parents b. NC,
Laborer - Barytees Mines?
Ella, wife, 30, mother of 5 children--5 living, b. NC, parents b. NC
William, son, 14, b. NC, Laborer - Barytees Mines, attends school
Josie, daughter, 12, b. NC, attends school
Mark? Mack?, son, 10, b. NC, attends school
Carl, son, 8, b. NC, attends school
Oscar, son, 4, b. NC
The image is kind of hard to read, but it looks like the name is actually
spelled WATENBURGER on the image.
