Found this on the web: Hope it helps.
Oct 7 2002 11:16 When trying to open any of my FTW (Family Treemaker
for
Windows) files, I frequently get the message "An error has
occurred in OLE2NLS.DLL. Please try reinstalling OLE." I
cannot find any Microsoft advice or assistance on
reinstalling OLE.
I understand from one Microsoft web page that the
OLE2NLS.DLL version that was (and, incidentally, still is)
installed on my computer, which uses Windows 98 Second
Edition, is v.2.10.3023.1
Could someone please inform me how to reinstall OLE or how
to reinstall the relevant version of OLE2NLS.DLL?
Thank you for any assistance.

Oct 8 2002 12:22 Hi John,
Per your previous post, when you try to open Family Tree Maker, you will
get this error message. If I misunderstand you, please let me know.
OLE is Object Linking and Embedding. Every time Family Tree Maker
starts,
it checks with Windows for information about the current language
settings.
These settings are used, for instance, to determine the way that dates
are
displayed. If there is a problem with these settings, Family Tree Maker
may
display the error message.
If this is the case, here are some instructions that should allow you to
proceed.
1. Verify Microsoft Outlook Express Settings.
a. Start Outlook Express and click the Tools menu.
b. Click Options and choose Read tab.
c. Click the button International Settings.
d. Make sure the checkbox to 'Use default encoding for all incoming
messages' is checked and click OK twice to save your changes.
2. Ensure the correct Regional Settings entry: English is chosen in the
Regional Settings in the Control Panel.
3. Exit everything and restart your computer.
If all the steps above don't help, please contact the FamilyTreeMaker
support at the following Web site:

I have tried to open my Family Tree Maker 8.0. Error message reads
OLE2NLS.DLL -- Reinstall OLE. I reinstalled Family Tree Maker, but same
message comes back. Any help would be appreciated!
