Robert,

I don't know which one could be yours.
This one is living with a Julius TATE.

1860 SHADE WM 21 M M NC NC BURKE MORGANTON
Series: M653 Roll: 889 Page: 436

Julius Tate, 30, Farmer, value of real estate: $ 10,380,
value of personal estate: $ 3000, b. NC
William Shade, 21, mulatto, Farm Laborer, b. NC
Harvey Shade, 16, mulatto, b. NC
Leroy Shade, 13, mulatto, b. NC
Elvira Shade, 41, black, b. NC

This William SHADE is living next door to an Isaac AVERY (age 74) family on
one side, and a Samuel M.D. TATE (age 29, who looks like he is running a
boarding house) on the other side. There is an Albert SHADE, age 30 black living
in Samuel TATE's boarding house.

1860 SHADE WILLIAM 22 M B NC NC BURKE MORGANTON P O
Series: M653 Roll: 889 Page: 446

Jacob Smallwood, 22, Farm Laborer, b. NC
William Shade, black, 22, cannot read or write

To track these people in other states, you would have to send census lookup
requests to the states where you think they might be living.

Hope this is helpful,
Lou
