Thanks so much for your reply!

William HOLLOWAY is black or mulatto - listed as
mulatto in the 1910 census, black in the 1920 census.
He, and his parents, were all born in VA.

His wife is Fannie or Frances. She, and her parents,
were born in NC. In the 1910 and 1920 census, she's
listed as mulatto. She's 23 in 1910 and 27 in 1920,
so was probably b. about 1887-1893.

Here's how the whole family shows up in 1910 and 1920
(haven't found the parents yet in 1900 - they would
have been single at the time. I think Fannie's maiden
name is RANKIN)

1910:
