Hello John,

Here is what I find on Elisha McCrimmon.

Elisha McCrimmon Head, Age 36, Himself and parents born NC,
Emma Wife, Age 27, Herself and parents born NC,
Clayton Son, Age 8, Born NC, NC, NC,
Thesal ? Son, Age 2, Born NC, NC, NC,
Not Named Daughter, Age 6/12, Born NC, NC, NC,

Elisha has been in this marriage 10 years, he was a laborer and did odd
jobs, he was able to read and write, he owned his farm. Emma has been in
this marriage 10 years, she is the mother of 2 children, 3 now living, maybe
this means Elisha was married before, she was a house keeper on the farm,
she was able to read and write. Clayton did not read or write, but was in
school. The name Thesal I am not sure I got right, it is a little hard to
read.

This census was enumerated April 25, 1910.

This is from 1910 Cumberland Co. NC,
Township: Little River,
District: 56,
Page: 238A,

I hope this helps some,

Good Luck Hunting,

Johnny

> In the U.S., a census has been taken every 10 years from 1790 through
2000. All censuses taken after 1930 are still confidential and the
information they contain is not open to the public. The census from 1790
through 1840 only named the head of the household and the numbers of people
in categories - 3 males over 16, 2 males under 16, etc.
> The census from 1850 through 1930 lists each member of the household and
usually gives the relationship to the head of the house. It also gives age
(1900 gives birth month and year) and place of birth (state or foreign
country). The 1890 census was almost totally destroyed by fire so there is a
20 year gap between 1880 and 1900.
