Hey, Dean.

The 1900 census for Brooklyn says that Robert was born Apr 1867, married 9
years, self and parents born NC.

I didn't check 1880 yet, but I am pretty sure this is yours in 1870 Franklin
County, North Carolina:

August 1870 - page 583
310 - Abbott, Martha A., age 54; keeping house; born NC
Lucy H., age 22; at home; born NC
Pattie O., age 18 (female); at home; born NC
Bettie J., age 16; at home; born NC
Stamper, Robert, age 3; born NC

Mark Stamper was living alone in Franklin County, Gold Mine Township, at age
32, born NC

Does that help? I will see what else I can find. Maybe Lucy left town - or
remarried.
