I have an Elam F. Morrison who was my Great Great Grandfather and her is
listed in the North Carolina Troops 1861-1865 Volume 4. Elam was a Sergeant
in Co. A 4th Regiment, NC State Troops. He resided in Iredell County at the
age of 23, April 20 1861. Mustered in as Sergeant. Promoted to
Quartermaster Sergeant in Nov-Dec 1862, and Transferred to the Field and
staff of this regiment.
On April 9, 1865 proled at Appomatox Court House, Virgomoa, Rank given as
Ordance Sergeant.
