I am interested in learning the disposition of Barton Dyson's slaves. In
his will dated 12 September 1836, His slaves were distributed among his
heirs as follows:

Iredell County

Pursuant to an order of Court Issued at August Sessions We the
undersigned have this day proceeded to value the Negroes belonging to the
Estate of Barton Dyson Decd* being eight in number biz(?)... Milly, Mary,
Peter, Jerry, Manda, Lewis, Zilpha and McCoy. Which said Negroes we lotted
off and divided amongst the six legatee/rs(?) agreeable to the will of said
deceased as follows:

Lot No 6Valuation
Zilpa aged 7 years$600Drawn by Martha Dyson Robey
McCoy aged 2 years

Lot No 3
Jerry aged - 13 years$700Drawn by William Dyson

Lot No 5
Milly aged 65 years$.51Drawn by Mary Dyson Gaither
Lewis aged 9 years$500

Lot No 1

Lot No 4
Manda aged 11 years$500Drawn by Elizabeth Dyson Gatton(?)

Lot No 2

Where would I find out if these slaves were subsequently sold? As we just
found out that Barton owned slaves, we were curious to the disposition of
these slaves. Any suggestions on how to research this?
