I am also looking for information on a RECTOR ancestor. I have no siblings
or parents for her.
My ancestor Carion "Cary" Halbrook (Halbock?) RECTOR was born Feb 28, 1780
and died Jun 23, 1854. She married Richard Combs CLARY bet 1808 -
1809. They are buried in the Clary family cemetery in Alexander County,
North Carolina. Richard Clary was born Dec 05, 1787 and died May 18, 1830.
Since Cary Clary nee Rector was a widow in 1840, she was listed as head of
household. Listed in the 1840 Iredell County census on the same page as
"Caryan Clary" is Benj'n RECKTOR, age 80-90. Perhaps he was her father.
In one of those legends that refuses to go away but seems to have no basis
in fact, "legend" has it that Cary had native American blood.

Donna:
I have Cary Holbrook Rector, married to Richard Combs Clary in my database.
Richard Combs Clary is the brother of my 3X great grandmother, Nancy Clary
who married Joshua Warren.
I have some Clary info but nothing on my Rector line, be happy to share.
