My husband has 3 SAWYER lines in Camden Co., NC (before 1777, a part of
Pasquotank Co.). I haven't found a common ancestor as far back as 1790.
However, I am stuck there, looking for the parents of the following:

1. WILLIAM SAWYER, b. about 1787, d. before 1868, m. before 1827 to RUTH
CROOKUM (CROOKHAM) with the following children: GRANDY, b. 1827; EDMUND,
b. 1828; JOHN, b. 1831/32; ELIZABETH, b. 1837; NARCISSUS (NARCISSA), b.
1840.

2. THOMAS SAWYER, dates and wife unknown, but the father of ARCHIBALD
SAWYER, b. 1825. Thomas MAY be the son of PHAROAH SAWYER & DOROTHY RIGGS
and would have had brothers, GRANDY & EDMUND...still looking for proof.
(I think that 1. WILLIAM SAWYER, above, might be related to PHAROAH in
some way because of the names GRANDY & EDMUND in both families, but no
proof yet.)

3. MATHIAS SAWYER, b. about 1808, d. probably before 1850, m. before
1830 to FRANCES (FANNIE) WILLIAMS and had children: MARY JANE, b. 1830;
JOHN, b. 1832; ADELINE, b.1839 and JAMES (JIM) HENRY, b. 1842.

I have later generations in all these families and will be glad to share
if anyone has an interest in them. I hope someone will find a familiar
name above and know more than I do!

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give.
Alice & Jim
