Subject: [NC-ROLLCALL] BRITE, WILLIAMS, WHALEY

We are researching my husband's family in Camden Co. NC and finding more
brickwalls than family trees. Can anyone help?
1. His earliest BRITE is Martha, who died in 1825 in Camden Co. (before
1777, a part of Pasquotank Co.). We don't know who her parents or
husband might be. She had children: John and Charity. Charity married an
unknown WILLIAMS and they had children Frances (Fanny/Fannie), William
and Jane WILLIAMS. Martha gave land to son, John in 1796 and only
mentioned Charity and her 3 WILLIAMS children in the Will proved in
1825.
Fanny WILLIAMS married Mathias SAWYER and they are my husband's
GGGrandparents.
2. His earliest WHALEY is Robert, also in Camden Co. I have been told
that he was the son of Charles Whailey, who is supposed to have moved
from Isle of Wight Co. VA to Camden Co. NC about 1800. On the other
hand, I was also told that Robert was the son of Nathanial (Nathan)
WHALEY. Any help here? Robert married Courtney SPENCE and they are
another set of Jim's GGGrandparents. Their daughter, Nancy married James
(Jim) Henry SAWYER (Civil War Vet.), the son of Fanny WILLIAMS & Mathias
SAWYER, Courtney SPENCE was the daughter of Miles SPENCE. This line goes
back to David SPENCE who emigrated from Scotland to Maryland and he died
there in
1679.
Any possible help with these names would be appreciated.
Alice & Jim
