Would like to get in contact with BURKET/BURKETT/BURKHART researchers in
the Ashe Co area. Especially interested in a Christian BURKETT who lived
in Ashe Co in the early 1800s.

My ggrandfather is Isaac K. BURKHART/BURKETT, born abt 1808 in Rhea Co,
Tn. The following persons, all with the surname BURKETT, lived in the
Morgan
District of Ashe Co in 1800: Christian 41010-10010, David 41110-20011,
Christian 12010-10200, Joseph 11014-11100 and Jacob 10100-00100. The
hypothesis is that one or more of them moved on to Tn. They are probably
all descendants of an Emanuel BURKHARDT, who originated in Berne,
Switzerland, and emigrated to Lancaster Co, Pa. Some of his children
migrated further to NC.
