The following information was obtained from family members. I, too, am
seeking the same family information as Jeanette Nelson

Abner Nelson Born 10/26/1793


Son of John and Sarah Nelson born in Grayson County, VA Married at the age of
23 to Lucy Ausborn age 19, March 4, 1815 in Grayson County, VA. Lived in Ashe
county, NC. At the time his first wife Lucy, died, June 12, 1823.
At the age of 37, Abner married a second wife Nancy Vanover age 20, Dec. 30,
1830 in Ashe Co., NC. Moved to Knox co. KY. around the year of 1851. Purchased
a piece of land from Wm. Mitchell, built a log house, and settled down to
farming and stock raising for a living. His second wife, Nancy, died October 7,
1873 and is buried in Liberty Cemetery, Knox co. KY.
At the age of 81, Abner Married for a third time to Thursay Ann Reynolds age
26, Sept. 2, 1874. To this union was born 1 son and 1 daughter. Abner died May
21, 1880. He is buried in Liberty Cemetery, Knox Co. KY. His home a large 2
story still stands and looks quite well. The land for Liberty cemetery was
given by Abner.
