My dad is Larry Beam (sister of Jean Beam Hicks). I am new to finding family history. I am inquiring about the name of my grandfather, I learned yesterday that he is a descendant of Robert Bryan Houston and Beuna Ollis Beam. We are unclear of My grandfather's birth name. I am wondering if/where I can get documentation that Fred Beam adopted Roy Oliver ? Beam or if he was given a birth name and then illegally accepted the Beam name.
