I guess I am writing you because of a kindred spirit for others in Wacko-Waco. I
was born there and lived there for 33 years. Also you're a genealogist so you
must be OK.
I noticed you sign all your correspondence with your name and address.
Friday I read an article at the C-net web site about information that could be
found out about an individual over the internet. The author used one of his
co-workers as an example. From her middle and last name and the city where she
lived he was able to find out her full name, address, phone, place of birth,
social security number, bank account and credit card numbers. He did this in a
very short time and had to spend about $60 total to get that. Had he been a
crook instead of a co-worker he could have wiped out her bank account and maxed
out her credit cards before she knew it.
I used to put all my info like you do, but have since quit putting anything but
my name. You might want to rethink the amount of info you freely give out.
