Subject: Roxobel Kelford Reunion

I posted a message about a Roxobel Kelford High School Reunion several
days ago.I would like to clear up a small problem, R/K was a school that
had 11 grades therefore all students who ever attended R/K are invited
to the reunion. Last year we had in attendance over 100 and would like
to have more this year. I do not know the complete history of the
school, but last year we had a lady who graduated in the first
graduating class and that year was 1926. At our reunion last year, we
had a volunteer to become Historian for R/K School. When Bertie county
decided to build one high school for the entire county, R/K ceased to
be. The last couple of years that the school was in existance, students
from Lewiston/Woodville attended (grade school) as a new elementary
school was also being built. R/K was never a large school as the high
school only had an enrollment of aprox.48 students. We did not have a
gym so all of our basketball practices were out side. We did have a
great staff of teachers even though we gave them a hard time. If you
ever attended R/K, you are invited to our reunion that is to be on the
1st day of May at Tom Norfleet's home in Roxobel. For more information
contact me: (Julius Shoulars @ or757-853-4061).
