I am transcribing an old Civil War document and looking for information on a
guard who was stationed at Salisbury
Prison in 1864. He was described as having the last name Belch (possibly
short for Belcher), very young man either from
Bertie or Hertford Co, a private in Co. D of the 68th Regiment commanded by
Capt. Askew.
