Dear subscrivers:
AT LAST! The Bertie Folklore Book has now been printed. The publisher
was supposed to have had it out by Xmas, but didn't make it. It took so
long that I am one-forth through the sequil - "Bertie Revisited"
subtitled "Bertie Legend - Fact or Fiction?"
These are the old stories of the past.. "The Castellaw Haint." "The
White Deer." "The Old Wild West Days in Windsor."
I remind you all, I am not a "Writer" but a "Storyteller"- relating them
as I heard them. There may be other versions, other names in the
stories - depending on how each of us hears them. The main thing is to
preserve the old stories of our youth in this day of computer
generations of kids who may sometime in the future may sit down, read
them, and relate Bertie's stories on to their kids.
They are paperback about the size of Gerald Thomas' book "Divided
Allegience." They are at the museum here and sell for $12.00 plus 2.00
postage. Just make out a check for $14.00 to Harry L. Thompson c/o
Port-O-Plymouth Museum, P.O.Box 296, Plymouth NC 27962 and it will be on
the return mail - autographed.
Thank you all for the interest already shown.
Harry
