In North Carolina Taxpayers 1679 - 1790, Volume 2, compiled by Clarence E.
Ratcliff, there were no Stricklands mentioned in Bertie County. But, there
was a Herman Junior and Senior in neighboring Halifax County (1783) and a
Drury and Joseph Strickling in Northampton County1780) and a Drury Strickling
in Hertford County (1784). Halifax, Northampton and Hertford are contiguous
to Bertie County so you might want to check records for those counties.
