Hi Mary...

I am trying to dig in my files for information on Johnsons: Will get
one of my dear friends to go through hers. There was a descendant
family of Johnsons from Marcus that named their sons after famous
people: Bickett Johnson (after Gov. Bickett of NC)
John Cabot Johnson
Livingston Johnson
Woodrow Wilson Johnson
and others.
Christine Johnson (Bickett's) wife has a good set of records and I will
get hers. She is now 82, quite active, and is a Cale descendant and a
straight line descendant ot the Tuscarora Indian - Cucklemaker.

The Hawkins tract that I mentioned I sold to Champion International
Paper Company with the understanding that they never destroy the
Cemetary. They have just been absorbed by International Paper Company,
and I am sure that the agreement still stands.

Get anyone at Ross Church - Neil Baker is one of the best - to take you
there.

James and Littleton both are familiar names. Will try to get some more
info for you from Christines notes. Heck, she has her own computer now.
Will pass her address on to you.

PS Remember, it was against the law for any minister or Justice to
perform an interracial marriage under penalty of loss of license. Thus
you will not find some pairs in the Marriage Bonds.
