Abstract of will of John Dunning, Bertie County, Book H, pg 179
My executor to take possession of negroes Lewis, Antoninette, Clary and
Daniel and hire them out yearly and pay over the neat proceeds to my wife
Mary.
After her death I give said negroes to daughter Laura Jane. If Laura dies
without issue then negroes to son Willie Dunning's children, to the, their
heirs and assigns forever.
To grandaughter Emeline E. Morris negro boy Anthony shoud Emeline E. Morris
die without issue then Anthony to my son Willie Dunning's children.
Land and property of any kind to Mary during widowhood. Then to daughter
Laura Jane. Should she have no issue then to son Willie Dunning's children.
