I found these Leggetts in some Bertie County records, but do not know if
they connect with my Beufort/Martin/Pitt Leggetts. The Jeremiah mentioned
here does not seem to be the same Jeremiah that was the Primitive Baptist
minister.

ALEXANDER LEGETT (F/246) 18 Jan 1814 Feb Ct 1814
"...being weak of body..."
Wife NANCY LEGETT - lend the two tracts of land with reference to deeds by
THOMAS LEGETT and WILLIAM JORDAN, also lend her all my personal estate, my
pocoson and fishery lands, all for her lifetime. Son JERH. LEGETT - all
lands I bought of JAMES LEGETT, also horse and bed. Son WILLIAM LEGETT and
daughter ELIZABETH LETETT - two-sevenths of my estate after payment of my
debts. Son GEORGE LEGETT - land I bought of ABRAM AIRS, as well as the
balance of my lands at the death of my wife, but if he should die underage
these lands shall fall to WILLIAM LEGETT. At the death of my wife, the
five-sevenths lent to my wife shall be divided amoung my four youngest
daughters, PEGGY LEGETT, POLLEY LEGETT, CLARISEY LEGETT and TEMPEY LEGETT,
but if either of them should die underage the survivors will inherit.
