Francis W. Oder

Sister Francis W. Oder was born July 23, 1838, and died
November 4, 1911, age 73 years. She joined Capehart’s Baptist Church in
1858, was baptized by Thomas Hoggard. She was married in 1862 to Rhuben
L. Oder, who died in 1868 leaving her one son, Thomas R. Oder.

She united with Lawrence Baptist Church in 1890, where she
remained until she died. Sister Oder was a good woman, could always be
found in the home of the sick and sorrowing, doing what she could for
their comfort.

She reared her only son to manhood and then he took care of
her as long as lived. Sister Oder leaves one son, three sisters, one
brother and four grandchildren to mourn their loss, and whereas our
community has lost a faithful friend and Lawrence Church a faithful
member therefore be it.

Resolved 1st. That we bow in humble submission to HIM who
doeth all things well and say “thy will be done,

2nd That we extend to the sorrowing ones our sympathy in
this, their sad hour.

3rd That a copy of these resoltiond be spread be the church
record, a copy to be sent to the family and one to the Windsor Ledger
for publication.

Adopted by Lawrence church in conference January 6th 1912.
