Marilyn's suggestion is exactly what I need everyone to do --- to work with
their deeds examining what is in them.

As she mentioned the clue is when two spots are mentioned. And it can be
fun to attempt "drawing".... I just start off with a small square and then
add the name of the "adjoining", etc.

>>>Poplar Branch First branch off Will's Quarter Swamp (Hoggard's Mill)<<<
This is the definition we have posted. So this gives a pretty specific
spot for the land.... at least a narrowing from just N of Cashie!!

So let's keep collecting them....and if you run into some other branches
that we don't have listed on this page
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncbertie/swamp.htm

Then do let me know.

For instance, I'm working on some Turkey Swamp abstracts...and one mentions
Licking Branch (which we didn't have listed). Since Turkey Swamp is rather
small, we can then figure that Licking Branch must be near by.

TURKEY SWAMP Between US Hwy. 17 and Greens Crossroad, branch
of Cashie River.

Thank you to all of you that are working with me on this --- and I have
also added family names and info to the bottom of the maps....
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncbertie/csamaps/csamaps.htm

Again, if you don't KNOW where your family lived.... just ask, and lets see
if we can't help you figure it out.
