Subject: [NCBERTIE] Kader name
Date: Thu, 2 Oct 2003 19:41:50 -0400
I was just poking around for Cadar/Cader/Kadar/Kader
names and origins because
we really did have a lot of them from around that
area of NC. Didn't turn up a great
deal but thought that you all might find these facts
interesting. This is the only spelling
that turned up useful answers which is interesting
in itself.

Names and Meanings
by GenStar, new additions by Clare B, Orior.
Names are listed in order of that character’s appearance in the Chronicles.
Characters whose names are not revealed, i.e. "the manageress" have been
deleted from this list. Much research has gone into the list, and I am not
claiming it is perfect- you may find other sources have different meanings.
There are many spelling differences between the two columns- these are NOT
misprints! It just means that the Chronicle names have a variant spelling.
I don’t know how Isobelle chose the names, however some have a very
appropriate meaning! e.g Elspeth, Angina, Henry Druid, Daffyd, Maryon,
Brydda, Kasanda etc
Also note: My interpretation of variant spelling depends on how I pronounce
the name, so you may pronounce it differently.
Also note: The interpretations can also vary from which language they
originated from. If you have different sources, you can always send them in.
Please email me if you want more information on a particular character.
