Hi Everyone,
Claudia has added a new cemetery to the files!
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncbertie/cemeteries.html
This is one that Faye had located some time ago that is located in an
obscure kind of spot [the directions are posted with the file
photographs] and although it is tiny the headstones are lovely and will
hopefully help one of you locate an ancestor. It is called Peele Burial
Ground at the bottom of the Cemetery index page.
Ray Fouts has an email address regarding her books that you may wish to
have handy since I apparently can't share a link worth a darn. <g> That
address is: & there are links now to the books
that she's made available on the front page of www.b4us.net if you would
like to see some of them without going around Robin Hoods barn with me
again.
A man wrote to me the other day about the area Quakers and I was
wondering if anyone might suggest some good places for him to dig around
as he looks for traces of his Quaker ancestors in the northeastern NC
area during the early 1800's? Thanks for posting a note if you have any
suggestions.
Oh, and Cathy Farris sent this neat news today to share:
This may be of interest to researchers.

This email announces that a new LDS FamilySearch Center is now operating
in the John Parker Library of the recently opened National Underground
Railroad Freedom Center (NURFC) in Cincinnati, Ohio.
You and your friends are invited to visit us and use our FamilySearch
Center. Adult fee to the NURFC is $12; however, if you visit only the
FamilySearch Center there is no charge.
The FamilySearch Center consists of five computers with high speed
Internet access. In addition to ancestry.com, we are using
heritagequestonline.com for access to census records. Various LDS
collections are also available including Pedigree Resource, Vital
Records, and Freedman's Bank Records.
Temple Ready is not in use at this FamilySearch Center. "Starter" kits
are
available for beginners.
The Center also includes a Canon digital micrographics system.
Microfilms may be ordered for the standard fee for people wishing to use
them in this FamilySearch Center.
The FamilySearch Center is sponsored and staffed by the three Cincinnati
stakes. The NURFC is excited to have the partnership of the Church in
creating and operating this FamilySearch Center. See page 10 of the
August issue of Family Tree magazine.
Since there is limited space at the FamilySearch Center, reservations
are recommended and can be made by calling (513) 333-7737. If you come
to the NURFC without a FamilySearch reservation, you may inquire at the
Information Desk to learn if there is available FamilySearch space. (A
reservation is unnecessary solely to visit the NURFC.)
The FamilySearch Center is open 11 AM to 4 PM, Tuesday through Friday;
and 11 AM to 2:30 PM on Saturday.
Please learn more about the NURFC at www.freedomcenter.org Questions or
suggestions may be directed to
