Hi Joan,

I looked for you and found another deed for Simon Turner in Bertie Co.,
but I don't have this one. If you don't get an answer from the Bertie
List perhaps a request of the Wake County List group will turn up this
deed ~ just a thought. Did find what appears to be Simon's original
purchase of this land and it is interesting so will include it just in
case you don't have it and would like to.
Deed Book L-2 954-(233) Henry Hunter & Thoms. Hunter, both of Bertie
Co., To Simon Turner of VA. 5 Jan 1771. 1066 pounds 13 shilling 4
pence proclamation. 2 tracts (messuages) on south side of Rocquist
Swamp which were bequeathed to Henry Hunter by the will of Henry Hunter
dec'd; 1 of 300 acres which was part of a patent to James Williamson 5
Apr 1720 & part of a patent to John Smithwick 7 Aug 1720, joining James
Williamson, Jonathan Taylor; 1 of 200 acres, joining the Indian Line,
William Perce, Henry Hunter wife of sd Thomas. Wit: David Standley,
John Owen, J..? Turner. Mar Ct. 1771. CC: John Johnston

Can anyone do a look up for me? I got a deed from the Bertie County
Courthouse two years ago and have lost the reference for it (Book and
page #).

Oct. 28, 1779 - Simon Turner of Wake County, NC, conveyed 120 acres of
land
"lying near the head of Rocquist Perquosn" to James Churchwell.

I have looked everywhere for the reference and would like to avoid
traveling
back to Windsor to get it, if possible.
