Subject: Buncombe County Census - 1810 to 1860 Henry TEAGUE in 1810 to 1860
Date: Mon, 22 Nov 1999 09:31:28 -0500
I am searching for a group of TEAGUE's from Buncombe Co., NC. The census
records of Buncombe county from 1810 to 1860 show Henry Teague living there.
Then in 1870 he shows up in 1864 married to Rhoda Ann Beene with his sons,
Solomon Terrell and Henry Ray.
I will try to be more clear now.
Henry Ray Teague, b 1854 in Buncombe County, Solomon Terrell Teague b. 1856,
Perry Teague, Cora Teague and Dora Teague are siblings.
Their Father was Henry Granville (Gainesville?) Teague of Buncombe County,
NC. Henry Granville or Gainseville TEAGUE was 52 in the 1870 Census of
Marion County, TN and 62 in the 1880 Marion County Census. He married a
Rhoda Ann Beene in 1864 and his sons, Henry and Solomon were listed with him
in the 1870 Census of Marion County.
Given their Father's age in the 1870 Census, Henry Teague Senior (Granville)
would have been born in 1818. He and his father would have to be in the 1820
census and the 1830 census. The Census records on Ancestry.com show a Henry
Teague in the same place from 1810 to the 1860 census years.
I am going to guess that Henry Granville's Father was also named Henry and
the family place was handed down in succession until the Civil War days.
Any help on these lines would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
