I am trying to verify that my great grandfather Moses Leonidas CLINE is
the son of David CLINE and Susannah DRY of Cabarrus County, NC.

Surviving family documents, census information and conversations with my
mother when I was a boy in the early 1940's indicate that Moses Leonidas
was: born September 7, 1811 in NC; married Nanette Emeline WORD February
9, 1837 in MS; died March 9, 1893 in Brenham, Washington County, TX.

David CLINE died in Cabarrus County, NC in 1845. His will lists a surviving
wife Susannah DRY and children: John, b. 1808 d. 1/9/1833 ; Matthias, b.
1811 d. 2/1/1834 ; Moses, b.1811 d. ? ; Jacob, b. ? ; d. ? ; Edmund, b.
1816 d. 2/3/1897 ; Elizabeth, b. 2/20/1805 d. 12/30/1878 ; Wilson David,
b. 4/15/1828 d. 8/10/1897 ; Sarah Ellen, b. 7/19/1840 and Sophia, b. 3/7/1824.
An unknown researcher has recorded that the Moses in the will left home
before the death of the father, David. Another researcher has posted that
"CLINE, David married DRY, Susannah on 20 Apr 1805".

My mother, Maud Marie CLINE, told me that her grandfather, Moses Leonidas
CLINE, ran away from home when a boy because his father worked him like
a slave in the fields. Surviving family documents indicate that my Moses
Leonidas CLINE was born 9/7/1811 in North Carolina and died in Brenham,
Texas.

I have observed that there are many CLINE'S located in NC counties; Cabarrus,
Catawba, Cleveland, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan.

Can anyone help me answer these questions: (1) Was my Moses Leonidas the
son of this David CLINE? (2) Was Susan DRY David's first and only wife?
(3) Who were David's ancestors?
