I would be very interested in hearing from any one with information on
Elijah A Smith, his wife Nancy and their descendents. Please see below:

Elijah A. Smith 1839 - Nov. 14, 1910 married
Nancy C. Willis July ? 1845 - Feb. 4, 1903

Nancy and Elijah were married in Carteret County, where she apparently grew
up. She died in New Bern, NC and according to county cemetery records she
appears to have died strangulation (I assume on food).

Soon after Nancy's death Elijah moved to Washington,DC (in 1903). He is
buried in Arlington National Cemetery and was a Lieutenant in the Union
Army. I would be happy to share this and the other information I've
obtained. I have a copy of the tombstone, his obituary, etc.

THEIR CHILDREN:

Penny Smith 1860? - Died some time after turning 2.

Rena C. Smith 1862? - 1940's D.C. It is said she worked in the White
House as a seamstress and then in a library. It is said she died in
the 1940's, presumed in Washington. Not believed to have ever
married or had any children. I would be interested in more information
on her: obituary, photo, etc.

Clara C. Smith 1874? - Died sometime after 6 years of age.

Jordfamey W. (Joshua A) Smith (male) Sept 1876 -
He was an electrician in New Bern, NC. Not sure how long he
lived. Elijah's obituary in New Bern only listed Joshua and Rena.
Does anyone have any more information?

Elizabeth Smith b-1879 . Died at a young age.

Arny E. Smith July 1882 -
I believe this child may have lived through adulthood, but I
don't have any more information on him. Can anyone help?

Would anyone happen to have anymore information on Elijah/Nancy and their
descendants. Nancy was from Carteret County and they lived there for a
while, then Onslow County, then New Bern and finally Elijah moved to
Washington DC. I would be happy to pay for the cost of coping and sending
this information to me. Please contact me via my e-mail if you can be of
