My guess is that James Clifford Lawrence was the son of James Lawrence and Margarete Ann Guthrie of Straits. He married first Rachel Nelson in 1901, who died between 1912 and 1920, then married Minnie Willis about 1921-22. There daughter Marguerite was likely named for his mother. His only son by his first wife, William, was living with and Minnie in 1930. I don’t know where his daughters by Rachel were. Minnie appears to be buried in Bayview Cemetery in Morehead City, but not James.
