Harlowe has always been in Carteret County. There are several cemeteries in and around Harlowe, some of which are in the Carteret County Cemetery Book, published in 1983. Surprisingly, the Harlowe United Methodist Church cemetery is not in the book. I inventoried the Bell graves in it and in a nearby abandoned cemetery for the book I wrote for CCHS, "The Bells of Harlowe Creek." As I recall, it is a sizeable cemetery -- perhaps the principal one in Harlowe.
