I am new to family researching and have mainly been using sources found on Ancestry.com to locate family. I am looking into
Ambrose son of David R. and Sophronia Fulford, son of Ambrose (Jr as listed in the US Census) and Hetty.
In most of the census years Hetty is listed as the wife, but the 1870 Census lists the wife as Esther, then the 1880 as Hetty again. Was her given name Esther Hetty (+ maiden name)?

Also, having problems earlier than Ambrose Sr (m Abigail Fulford 1806) I see him in the 1810 Census in the "Straits between Jarrett Bay and Daws/Davis(?) Creek area. In the 1800 Census for the same area, I see a Uriah Jones (+ household) and an Aden Jones (+household). Was one of them his father?

What would be some good resources to help me researching out the Jones?
