My name is James Wayne Campbell. I was born on February 2, 1938 in High
Point, NC. My mother is Fairene Matilda White, born March 13, 1914 in
Surry County, NC and died in High Point on February 17, 1999. I have been
fairly successful at finding relatives on her side of my family. My father
was James Dolphin William Campbell, born July 23, 1905 in Mt. Airy, NC and
died August 3, 1988 in North Wilkesboro, NC. I can't seem to get beyond
his parents, James Sanford Campbell, born October 13, 1873, died Los
Angeles, CA on April 10, 1937 and Mary Rebecca Smith, born in 1879 and died
in 1907. Both lived in/near Dobson at one time, and I have visited my
grandmother's grave in Surry County. It is my understanding from other
older relatives that my paternal great-grandparents and paternal
grandparents came from Caswell County and yet I'm not really sure of their
names (the g-gs, that is.) I am looking for records and relatives that
might help me get beyond those four family members and dates. Please, any
information would be appreciated and, of course, I would be happy to share
