Hello List,
I hope there still is a list, haven't heard from it for ages. (am I
still subscribed?) :=)
Wanted to let everyone know I've just transcribed an account book that
was graciously loaned to be copied and extracted, by Ann Powell, the new
CC for Lee Co. page.

This account book was one of her ancestor's, Malcolm Nicholson. It was
kept by him over 150 years ago.
He was a blacksmith so, the accounts are about repairs to farm equipment
and the debts owed him by the people in the book, for these services.
I've not extracted the details of these services they were too much to
put online (they cover 4 years) and pretty boring stuff, for everyone to
read about "sharpening one plow or one screw; or shoeing a horse, making
a hinge, etc" and what it cost. (usually no more than a few cents)
So, I've just listed the names and the dates of when they appear in the
book. If you find yours and really need to know the details of what was
done for him, let me know I will look it up.

The site is in the Families section of the page and the URL is:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncchatha/mnichobk.htm
Most of Malcolm's customers were from the southern portion of the county
in or near, what is now, Lee and Moore counties. Some of the names of
which, I am not familiar.
Good Luck,
Sue Ashby
