Hello Everyone,

This is was a May issue of the North Georgia News:

"Providence United Methodist Church is now 164 years old. That is a
great legacy to pass on to future generations. But just telling the
stores at reunions and homecomings is not enough. We want to document
these storeies by putting them all together in a memory book. So that
everyone can know the history of Providence and feel proud to be a part
of something that is a mountain legacy.

We are in the process of gathering stories for the memory book about
Providence United Methodist Church, Providence School and Providence
Cemetery. What we would like is a biography of your family history at
Providence. Please give a family tree as far back as you can, including
dates of births, deaths and marriages if possible. If you were in
school here, please give dates of attendance.

We also would like any stories and special memories you have of the
church events or the people of the church.

If they are stories you were told, please tell who told them to you. If
you have pictures, please send copies of them also.
