I am a descendant of Miriam and John Norcom.Unfortunately,
you have incorrect marriage info on Dr. James Norcom--
his first wife was not Mary Mathilda Horniblow--she was his
second wife. According to court records Dr. James Norcom
divorced his first wife, Mary? Custus or Custis. She had one son, John with him. She died in 1808.In 1810 he then remarried Miss Horniblow. Dr. John Norcom was very close to his half-
brothers and sisters and as I see in your message named his daughter Annie "RUSH" for one of them.This name came from a famous professor of his at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School (Class of 1798 or 1799) Also when Miriam Standin died John married Elizabeth Horniblow who was the mother of Mary Mathilda Horniblow who married Dr. James Norcom. Dr. James then had a step-mother who was his own mother-in-law.I am descended from his daughter Mary Mathilda Norcom (granddaughter of John AND Elizabeth Norcom) who married Daniel Messmore in 1846.He died in 1906 in NYC.Their son Francis(Frank)had a son Carman, who had a daughter Ann Messmore, who had me.
