Am not exactly sure what Union soldiers you are looking for. My gg-gf died
in a Savannah, GA, Union Hospital on Jan 3, 1865 and is buried in the
National Cemetery at Beaufort, SC (Section 2 & 5 are pretty much dedicated
to Union dead from Indiana and Ohio Union Army units). He was born and
raised in Southern Indiana, Floyd County, on a farm near the County Seat of
New Albany. He was a member of the IND 58th INF Co. B. Beyond that I know
nothing about his unit and its participation in the CW or how he died, etc.
Are we on a collaborating course?

Relatives on both sides of my family lived in and around Craven and Pitt
Counties in the 17 and 1800s. Dad's side moved toward Indiana at an unknown
time and Mom's toward AL, MS and LA. Her gf was born in Craven Cty. Family
history tells me many on my mother's side fought in the Confederate Army,
but other family members who remained in NC could have fought on either
side, since brother-fighting-brother was common during the CW, especially
North Carolinians.

Let me know, Maurice S.

PS Please ID yourself.

GOD BLESS AMERICA - Think About it!
