WARNING: Let this get your attention.

Early 1700 & 1800s, Old Pa. wagon roads due south cris-crossed through the
state of VA. from upper New England carrying thousands of migrants. Great
road split about present day Roanoke. One road continued down into TN.
toward GA. and other road due south into Rowan County, NC. toward SC. The
road from Roanoke to Rowan County was the most heavily traveled road in the
country. It was both a southerly route and a westward route from eastern NC
