<< Hi, Christine. Uh...is this John Winders Sr. who m. Martha Turnage as
his 2nd wife, the man who married (1) Ann Bright?
((Yep, the same man , he m in 1799 that is in the marriage book ))
Or, do I have my John Winders(es) mixed up?
( no you do not have them mixed up)
Now that I look at it, when were John Winders and Ann Bright married? I've
seen several guesses, all over the place.
( they are all guesses on these dates, i gather, ) I have seen a Winders Site
somewhere but cannot find it now , will you send me the links you have for
Winders?? Thanks.
Some have Ann as MARTHA BRIGHT, i do not remember where or how i found ANN
BRIGHT as the wife of John Winders, but i do remember finding that there was
a Wm Bright with a dau Martha, same age frame and all so i had put her down
as Martha Ann, than with more search , found out that Wm died in 1754/52,
after finding the Will of our Wm Bright that died 1762/64, so i took the
MARTHA off of my papers, but i see a lot of other papers still have the dau
as MARTHA, and not ANN.??????
Their daughter Sarah, when was she born ? (Ancestral File says 1769 but I
don't have any confidence in that.)
(( i have est.date of 1759,for Sarah, she and James m 1777, that would have
made her 18 when she married.)
When was Sarah's brother born, the John who m. Tabby NEW in 1787? I've
seen two dates for him: b. 1755 and 1765 >>
(( I have not seen the date 1765 for John but i would rather go with that
date than 1755, a date of 1775 would go better with what the census has,
which i have but will be changing :-), because of the 1800 census, you can
clearly see that he was younger than James & even Edward his brothers,
Edward is listed as being b in 1771, I do not have the Ky Census for 1810,
but hope to go to Birmingham by the end of the month , i think they have the
Ky census, someone has this info but have not posted it :-(.
As a matter of fact you are the only one who has answered the post on this.
I am hoping the others are checking their records :-), to see if they come up
with what i have come up with .
Good luck to All
