We have received notifications for the following local FREE events:

Tomorrow, 23 September, from 9:00 until 1:00 the Family History Center
in Chapel Hill at 1050 Airport Road will be presenting their "Family
History Expo". There will be free classes (no preregistration required)
on the following topics: How Do I Start?, Using the US Census, Using the
Family History Library Catalog, Updating Inherited Genealogies,
Organizing Your Computer, 15-Minute Genealogy, Document Checklist and
Organizing Your Documents. Call 919-967-0988 for further details. This
event is being co-sponsored by the Alamance County Genealogical Society.

Tomorrow, 23 September, from 11:00 until 3:00 the High Point Public
Library North Carolina Collection will be hosting "GenFest II Family &
Local History Festival". They will feature authors, Ask the Exper, local
societies, door prizes, vendors, scrapbooking, family swap meet and much
more. Location: High Point Public Library courtyard, 901 N. Main St.,

The Forsyth County Genealogical Society invites you to the 2nd Annual
Swap Meet on 30 September, 2006 from 10:00am - 3:00pm in the
Kernersville Enrichment Center at 130 East Mountain Street,
Kernersville, NC 27284. Bring your materials and exchange with fellow
researchers. Copier will be available. New publications will be for
sale. Many NC genealogy & historical society publications will be
